Dear Anatomist,

We would like to invite you to participate in a study that will explore the perceptions and experiences of anatomists.

In recent years a number of issues affecting workplaces have come to light. These include; gender pay gaps, bullying and harassment, as well as mental health and wellbeing. There have been attempts to understand the impact of these issues at a national and institutional level. However, to-date this has not been studied at a subject level. Anatomists may work with only one or two per institution and therefore rely heavily on the national and international forums for support and guidance. This study aims to explores the experiences of anatomists, within the context of institution, national and international level.  You have been selected because you an anatomists working in research, teaching or both at a higher education/medical institution.

We would like to invite you to take part in a survey, that will take you roughly 30 minutes to complete. All responses are anonymous and will not be linked to any individual in any way. We also ask that no individual is named in any way throughout the survey. After the results of the survey have been analyzed we would like to invite participants to take part in e-interviews so we can further explore the topics brought forward by yourselves. Interviews are expected to last up to 45 minutes and will be at a date and time to suit you.

There is no funding available for this study, we are hence unable to pay participants. We will ensure that the results are disseminated and also a report is produced for anatomical societies highlighting the issues, so that they can focus their strategies in a way each national society feels is most appropriate.

This study has been approved by the Hull York Medical School, Research Governance and Ethics Committee.

Please see the attached Participant Information Sheet. The consent form is online as part of the Survey. If you would like to take part please use the survey link below. Please also feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
