The initiative aims to ignite curiosity in young and old audiences about the anatomy of humans and animals and stimulate anatomists to share their stories, passions and expertise in innovative ways with wider audiences. Hullabaloo Festival, Isle of Wight
On 12th and 13th May 2018, the Anatomical Society teamed up with the Royal Society of Biology and the Biochemistry Society to man an interactive science stand at the Hullabaloo Science festival in the Isle of Wight. The Anatomical Society stand involved a team of researchers highlighting how stem cell can create our bodies and help repair damaged organs. Would be scientists from the ages of 5 to 15 had fun modelling plasticine “stem cells” and growing them in medium.
The stand was constantly busy and attracted quite a queue! Thanks to Heather, Rupali, Doris and Tathy, the PhD students and postdocs from King’s College London who manned the stand for the Anatomical society.
