Sep 13, 2017
The British Science Festival this year was hosted at Brighton and Sussex Universities. The festival was enjoyed by thousands of visitors across the week. The session ‘Secrets inside the Human Body’ hosted by Dr C Smith, Dr A. Dilley and Ms C Hennessy gathered over a hundred visitors. The team showcased three examples of the heart, arm and GI system using live dissection and living ultrasound to show how amazing the human body is. Participants also took part in research gathering data on public knowledge of anatomy via a quiz. As members of the public left, they viewed the Anatomical Society gifts and these were taken by the public. There were several school teachers present who were interested in the resources offered by the Society. In summary, this event went very well and was an ideal opportunity to promote the society.
